There are 181 built in styles for performing songs and jamming along with other musicians and custom tunings like Arabic and Pythagorean temperaments make the PSR-S650 a versatile performance instrument on an international scale.

For creative musicians and song writers, the PSR-S650's 16-track sequencer is a versatile tool for sequencing and layering chord progressions, drum tracks, baselines and other instrument parts. The PSR-S650's USB-to-host port enables the users to access the keyboards sounds from other MIDI devices, turning it into a 64-note, multi-timbral tone generator.
